Snowy Day

We had a snow storm come during the night last Friday.  We woke up Saturday morning to 3-4 inches of snow.  After a bit of Christmas Shopping the kids and I ran over to our friends house to sled down their "hill."   They'd made a sled run down their retaining wall...it was pretty steep, but the kids loved it.

Each one had their preferred method of sledding.  Avery was too afraid to go down on a sled or facing forward, but her belly slide worked just fine!

After our sledding the kids weren't ready to come in yet so they stayed out and made a great snowman.

We had a ball playing in the snow!

Reindeer Sleigh

We went to see Santa's reindeer last week before they take off to the North Pole to fly his sleigh...

Avery thought they were big.  It was fun to make that connection so close to home.

Christmas Party

We had our Ward Party last week.  The kids loved sitting on Santa's lap and giving him a list of things they'd love for Christmas.  Ethan wants more Legos, a big hit at his birthday party.  Avery wants Stompeez...the silly animal slippers that ears pop up when you walk.

After Santa the kids were invited to act out the Nativity, complete with costumes...We had the handsomest Wiseman.

And the softest Sheep!  The kids were so excited to put on costumes.  It turned out fabulous!

Sing Along

Today was the Kindergarten Sing Along. Ethan has been practicing the song at home for a while now. It was so cute. They had a little movie where the principal interviewed a few kids about Santa while the classes filed in.

Ethan did a great job singing "I'm The Happiest Christmas Tree."

I loved being the parent sitting back and enjoying the show and Ethan loved singing in front of everyone and listening with friends.

Sick Day

Ethan and Avery had a cold recently. We tried really hard not to spread our germs around so one day we just stayed home. We watched a movie or two and played a lot, but by the afternoon we were all feeling cooped up...

I pulled out some Christmas Puppet kits I bought last year. They were fabulous. We loved them...a little kid friendly hand sewing, a little gluing and lots of creativity was just what the doctor ordered to help us through the rest of the day.

Bob was thrilled with his puppet show when he got home.

Thanksgiving

We are so blessed to live so close to Bob's family. Even on an "off" year there are enough of us around to have a huge celebration.

We loved the Pie Party on Wednesday night with most everybody. It's a great tradition with fabulous pies and outstanding company.

Our Thanksgiving dinner was amazing. A delicious meal and family to share it with!

Ethan made our Family Home Evening lesson on being thankful...He made a Thankful tree for us and for our friends. It was super to think about all we have to be thankful for...We are truly blessed!

Cabin Weekend

Aunt Amy & Uncle Ray were kind enough to let us come stay at their cabin for a weekend get away. We hadn't been there since planting time in the Spring...boy has it changed.

We had lots of fun riding the new 4 wheeler to get a lay of the land.

We saw so many deer, does and bucks, we finally lost count.

We loved the movies, the games, the crafting, the food, and the relaxing!

Can't wait for another get away invite!
