Saved By The Mail

It had been one of those days one day last week. Avery had me up all night and was pretty cranky and Ethan was having a hard time behaving...By the afternoon we were all at our whit's end.. The weather was bad enough we couldn't escape to the park so we took a field trip to the mailbox. It's just across the street, but we went out the front door and around the corner for just a few more moments of relief. When we got to the box much to our surprise there was a little package for Ethan from Aunt Nancy and Kids. Inside were cute handwritten notes from cousins and a brand new book! Something we could all enjoy "Llama, Llama Mad At Mama!" I think we read it 10 times! That day our sanity was truly Saved By The Mail! Thanks Nan and clan!

Radical Reptiles

We met up last week with our little buddies at the local Life Science Museum. Bob and I have taken Ethan to the museum before, but today was special. Ethan and I got to see a couple live reptile shows.
Ethan was so attentive during the shows. He listened carefully and actually learned a lot about each type of reptile. He was excited to share his new knowledge with Ava and Jax.

He patiently waited for his turn to get 2 fingers on each reptile. He wasn't afraid of anything. He got to learn about and touch a turtle, a blue tonged lizard, a bearded lizard, a Rosie Boa snake, and a King Snake. He says the snakes were his favorite, but I could tell he was fascinate with each animal.

Money Well Spent

Ethan got a dollar from Gram in his last package. He loves to have his own money because I'm pretty easy going when it comes to him spending his money. I let him choose just about anything. This time we were in Robert's Crafts and he saw a Build Your Own Fighter Jet Kit and decided to buy it. He and Daddy couldn't wait to get home and get started constructing.
The kit wasn't as easy as one we'd previously put together, but Bob and Ethan had a great time over the next few days hammering, sanding, fitting and painting.
They are happy with their work and Ethan loves flying his plane around...it makes a Crafting Mama and a Woodworking Daddy proud parents!

Spring Fling

Last week we had quite a few nice days. The weather was warmer and the sun was out so Ethan, Avery and I went to explore the park close to our house. We are excited to have a nice park just up the hill from us.

Ethan had such a good time climbing, sliding, jumping, spinning, and showing Avery just how a kid plays at the park. He keeps asking to go back...too bad the weather hasn't cooperated!

Avery loved the swing. I had her in the sling so we climbed on together. She liked it so much! I loved hearing her giggle.

Ethan was a great big brother and took Avery down the slide for the first time. The look on her face says it all! It is so fun to experience the firsts of life through new eyes.

Our Silly Kids

Ethan and Avery are cute little kids. Here are just a couple of fun things lately.

Ethan LOVES milk. We buy it
2 gallons at a time for him. He's realized that his milk has a dark blue lid and is pretty protective of his gallons. Last week I grabbed a gallon of milk out of the fridge to make french toast for all of us at breakfast. Well as it happened the gallon I grabbed was Ethan's milk. He came running in from the dining room to save his milk..."Not MY milk mom!" He quickly hugged his jug to keep me from using anymore of his liquid gold. I had to snap a quick picture so we could always remember just how much this kid likes milk.

Avery loves to help fold the laundry...well she loves to investigate the laundry while Bob and I fold it. Last time we had a pile of laundry on the bed she grabbed one of my sports socks...She loved how soft it was and kept putting it in her mouth...Ethan thought it was pretty gross...a dirty old gym sock. I don't think he fully understands the concept of clean laundry!

Six Months

Avery is 6 months old today. It has gone by so quickly. What did we ever do before she came? Her giggles, squeaks and squeals bring a smile to our faces. Her bright eyes light up the room. She is rolling over and sitting up now. She and Ethan become better friends everyday. We love her!
