Outer Space Outing

The other day we told Ethan we were going on a special adventure as a family. When we all got in the car he was anxious to know where we were taking him. Both Bob and I quickly said, "To the moon!" In the past we've joked with him and often told him we were going to the moon...much to his delight today we were serious.

The local planetarium has some displays and activities for kids so off we went. Ethan drove the spaceship to different planets to find out just how heavy he would be around the Solar System, aligned the planets in order to avert an ice storm from crashing in to the earth and Bob and the kids generated enough energy to light a 25 watt light bulb.

After all that fun the kids took a trip to Mars and explored the red planet's rocky surface.

Ethan loved his moon walk with an astronaut.

But in the end we were happy to land back down on Earth!
