So Worth It!

Avery just spent the last hour looking back over old blog posts!  We loved every minute of it.  It brought tears to my eyes to see how much my kids have grown.  We smiled and laughed at the fun family adventures we've had.  I must get back in to blogging!!!!  SOON!

RV's For Everyone

Now that we have a new, bigger car we didn't feel the need to go to the Car Show so we chose our next toy and headed up to check out all the campers possible at the RV Show.

We had to tell the kids we weren't going to be able to get in to every RV at the show so we taught them a few things we were looking for: not a 5th Wheel, had to have bunk beds, and it couldn't be too heavy for our Expedition to haul.  That narrowed it down some, but we still jumped in a lot of them.

Ethan and Avery tried out each set of bunks, each shower and tub, and made sure each trailer we could buy had a TV.

They were thrilled to find a kid size RV too.  We knew there was an RV for everyone as soon as we walked in!

Now all we need a little more money to buy one and a place to park it for the off season...

A Full Time Job

Ethan needs a full time job to earn enough money to buy all the toys he wants.  Thankfully Aunt Amy has been living with us and is too busy to do her own laundry.  In swoops Ethan and at $5 a week, plus a couple of tips for folding socks he was able to buy the Battering Ram he wanted to go with his Imaginext Castle.  I'm not sure what he'll do when Aunt Amy goes home again, Mom and Dad DON'T pay for laundry!

So Much Snow

We haven't had much snow this winter...at least that's what I thought last week until the BIG storm hit.  We had snowy weather 2-3 days in a row, which meant A LOT of shoveling.  The kids and I actually did a lot of the shoveling.  We wanted to have the driveway clear when we got home from the school and grocery shopping.

After the biggest of the storms the snow was piled up so high Bob took the kids out and had to shovel the 3 foot snowbank the plow left in front of our driveway...

Needless to say they had way more fun with Daddy shoveling than mommy.  I was all business, but Bob and the kids made a tunnel through the snow that the kids could climb through.  The tunnel was longer than Avery is tall and it was taller than Ethan.

After a few minutes of tunneling they decided to make a snow monster that would eat the kids.  Another hit!  After lots of playing and pictures we dutifully filled in the hole and broke down the tunnel...for safety's sake.  It sure was fun while it lasted!

A Sad Goodbye

We have sent 3 sets of friends off on new moving adventures in the last 2 years.  It's been hard to say goodbye.  We were sad to see Hunter, Sophie, Pania and Fili move from across the street to Washington DC!  We will miss playing, sharing, borrowing, and hanging out!

Good luck friends and come back soon to visit!  To all other friends, moving is no longer an option for you...We've lost too many good ones!

Smoking

Our family LOVES barbeque...ribs are at the top of our list so Bob decided it was time to try out a new recipe on his smoker.  We bought a couple racks of ribs and went to work.  He had willing helpers when they found out they would get to eat the "meat with bones in it!"

It was a fun day of checking and waiting.  They turned out great and we devoured them all!  Each of our kids had 3-4 ribs a piece!  Thanks Daddyo for a yummy dinner!
