Our Little All Star

We love Itty Bitty Ball! Ethan just finished Football. He had a great time and is really becoming a tough football player.

Ethan got lots of compliments from many of the coaches this year on his ability and skill. He would often say "I dominated" after a play or station.

He gets a kick out of playing with the other boys and feeling like he's part of a team.

Avery is his biggest fan and cheerleader. She often would sneak out on to the court jumping and cheering, "Go Bubba!" I can't wait to see these two in high school!

So Crafty

My family is crafty. We love to make things together. When we were in Washington my sister and I crafted with my mom and last week my sister and I crafted up a Halloween Storm.

We made super cute Jack O Lantern lanterns out of canning jars.

They turned out great...if I do say so myself.

We also wrapped beautiful purple Halloween lights around our largest pumpkins. I love my new pumpkin stand.

The kids and I will still carve a few pumpkins, but we sure look festive around here!

Monster Making

The kids and I picked up a couple of "Make Your Own Monster" shirt kits on clearance a few weeks ago and finally found shirts we wanted to use with them.

Ethan chose a baseball playing monster. We carefully cut out each piece he wanted to use and ironed them down in place. He was excited and very helpful. He wanted to do each step by himself.

Avery was a good little helper for about a minute...then she was off to play with big brother...but she loves her princess monster!

We are proud of our crafty little shirts and can't wait for laundry day so they will be clean again!

Llama Llama Red Pajama

Our neighborhood started a 4 year old playgroup. Every Thursday 6 four year old boys get together at a different house and play...every 6 weeks I get to host and this time it was the Llama Llama Red Pajama Day...Jumpstart Read For The Record.

Ethan and I planned lots of fun things for the boys to do to celebrate this great book...

We started off by having the boys all wear their pajamas, reading the book and talking about how Baby Llama got ready for bed, what he looked like and what he did in the story...

Then we made Baby Llama Sock puppets. The boys did a great job gluing all the right pieces in the right place.

We had a get ready for bed relay. Each boy on the 2 teams had to:

1. Put on a bed shirt...trickier than I thought it would be.

2. Brush their teeth and have a drink of water...
Some did a better pretend job of this than they do in real life.

3. Read a book...many of them actually looked at all the pages,
but some flipped through pretty quickly.

4. Grab a stuffed animal and climb in to bed...they had to stay in bed for 3 snores, that may have been my favorite part!

Finally, we read the book one more time acting out Baby Llama's parts with our puppets then enjoyed a llama shaped cookie treat.

We had a super time! Ethan is currently at the 4 year old playdate...can't wait to see what they do!

Ride Of A Lifetime

Bob has a few perks to his job. Last week he was lucky enough to take an unforgettable ride. At work he is heading up a study with a couple of small towns and the local National Guard Base. In order to facilitate the study Bob got take a flying tour of the National Guard Facility and surrounding area in a Black Hawk Helicopter.

He had the only civilian headset and heard all the pilot's comments from his jump seat next to the open door.

The kids and I headed out to an open parking lot during his flight and waved feverishly when the Black Hawk flew over us. The kids are still talking about it!

All Out Fun

Last week the kids and I joined Aunt Amy for a long drive up to Gram and Papa's house. This trip was all about the kids and FUN!!

Avery was thrilled to see Baby Daniel again!

Amy brought a great project! Each of the kids made a bottle rocket and launcher. It was loads of fun and man did our rockets fly.

The State Fair was in town so one day we took the kids for all out fun. Pony rides, fair food, crazy animals and a ride at the midway...always a good time!

Ethan did the Kids Tractor Pull. I was amazed that he could pedal pull 100 pounds in his sled. He was pretty proud of himself, so were we!

While we had the cousins staying over at Gram's we also hit the local fruit stand/pumpkin patch for even more fun.The corn maze, pumpkin patch and colorful gourds kept everyone's attention.

We had a great time and can't wait for the next trip!

Crazy Good Time

Last weekend we went up the canyon for a crazy good time. The leaves started to turn fresh fall colors, the weather was a little cooler and the kids were ready for some fun!

Avery danced the night away around the fire. It may have been the 14 hours on the road the day before, but she was in a mood...a sassy little thing!

Ethan found ways to entertain us all. He's a creative kid!

We had a quick dinner, a warm fire, yummy s'mores, a beautiful spot right by the river and so much fun! Thank you for all the campfire fun canyon...until next year!
