Fish Galore

Thanks to Aunt Mary for the free pass and thanks to the state holiday (Bob had an extra day off this week) we took Ethan to the Aquarium. He loved it. We'd been before, but what a difference a year makes! They had a whole new section and Ethan could really appreciate the wonders of the sea.

He was thrilled to see all of the different fish. The first ones we saw were the kind fish he and daddy had caught before. He thought that was pretty cool.
Then the tropical fish really wowed him with their bright colors. He was excited to see a "Nemo" fish and wanted to know where Nemo's Daddy was. I was impressed with the huge octopus.

This year they have added a South America section. We saw some pretty amazing fish and creatures in there. We saw piranhas, an anaconda, Caiman crocodiles, sea turtles, tarantulas, and an electric eel.
At the eel tank there was a display you could put your hand on and feel the shock of an eel. Bob and I both did it and were amazed at how much punch a brush with an eel packed. I was a little hesitant to let Ethan try it, but he really wanted to...strangely enough he touched the nodes 3-4 times and we had to convince him it was time to move on.

Of course a favorite spot was the Sting Ray Touch Tank. Ethan loved putting his hands in the water and touching the rays and fish in the tank. We visited this spot a couple of times. He was so excited when one of the rays swam up his arm a little.

Ethan brought home a bouncy ball with a sea turtle inside and had to sleep with it that night and it was the first thing he asked for when he woke up in the morning so I think he had a great time!
