Our friends are moving any day now so we are using every excuse in the book to get together...today?
Cinco De Mayo of course!

We started the day with quesadillas, salsa and horchata for lunch followed up by delicious sopapillas. Avery really enjoyed her bits of fried bread,

but she didn't know what she was missing-cinnamon and sugar, honey, powdered sugar, strawberries and hot fudge sauce. Needless to say the rest of us were in heaven!

We continued the festivities by making tissue paper flowers. We made a lovely bunch!

Finally we went out with a bang-or a whack that is. The kids each made their own pinata filled with candy and toys then out we went to break them open.
We had a ball!

We are going to miss our buddies when they move...who will be crazy enough to celebrate random holidays with us?
