Apples Galore

We were lucky enough to get to go to Washington for Fall Break. We had so much fun playing with family. We also gleaned apples and pears. We were so excited to have fresh from the tree fruit.

With such a hard working crew it didn't take long to gather buckets and boxes full of ripe fruit.

Ethan loved using the old fashioned gleaning tool...a rusty tin can wired to the end of a long wooden board.

Avery on the other hand used the old fashioned method of hand picking with a little lift.

We packed our car full when we headed home. The kids and I peeled, sliced, and diced all our apples into homemade applesauce and dried apples and pears. We are loving the fruits of our labors.

I love getting out in the orchards and gleaning fruit. It was so fun to have family with us. Glad you enjoyed the fruit. You had such good helpers!
