At Seven Peaks

The biggest attraction with our Pass Of All Passes is admission to Seven Peaks Water Park. We finally had a free day and met up with our "southern" friends for a day of fun.

Ethan was thrilled to ride the slides. I made him ride with me the first time, but then he was feeling pretty brave and begged to slide solo. Yep, feeling grown up!

A Wild Round Up Week

We love all the fun things the city does for Round Up. We went wild this year and did just as many of the activities we could...

We met cousins for the bird show. There were lots of neat birds and even mom learned a few things from the presentation...

The reptile show was a hit as usual. Both Ethan and Avery love reptiles...where did they get that from?

We had some friends over and took them to the first Main Street Cattle Drive in years. There were nearly as many cowboys as cattle, but it was still fun to see them saunter down the street.

The kids' parade is always great. Not very long, lots of cute kid floats and candy. We love to get the whole gang together and watch.

Finally, Jason celebrated his 1st birthday Round Up Style...Ethan love the barrel race like Auntie Hannah does...thanks for the fun games! A great way to finish up the round up.

Play Ball!

Ethan started playing T-Ball this year. He loves it. At his first practice he told me I could take pictures of him if I wanted...I think he meant he wanted to remember every moment on the field.

It has been fun to watch him play. He's quite a little ball player. He has such intensity at times. He also spends a lot of the game chatting with the opponents.

He's getting better at catching.

Can really throw the ball well.

Runs from base to base like a pro.

And really is a heavy hitter.

We all love a good game and love our nights at the ball field.

What's New At The Zoo

We have the best friends. They have a boy Ethan's age, a girl Avery's age, and love to go on outings as much as we do. We've started a weekly outing day on Wednesdays and LOVE it! We ventured out to a busy day at the zoo a few weeks ago. We had to park a few blocks away and were questioning our decision, but really wanted to see the new exhibit so we braved the crowd.

I'm so happy we did. Rocky Shores is amazing. They have 3 grizzly bears rescued from Yellowstone. It was nearly as fun as seeing them in the wild. The enclosure is beautiful and we were lucky enough to have one of them come up right next to the window to eat a little celery and a few strawberries.

There are 3-4 underwater viewing areas. We saw the seals and sea lions swim round and round right next to the window.

We had so much fun seeing all the new parts to Rocky Shores.

But the highlight of our visit to the new area of the zoo was when the zoo keeper threw fish to the polar bear. The bear would dive in to the water and swim out to his lunch. It was fabulous. The zoo keeper made a real show out of it.

Thanks for the super Zoo trip friends! Can't wait 'til next week for our newest adventure!

Happy Anniversary

Bob and I are celebrating our 11 year anniversary today. Thanks to Aunt Amy we had a great evening out. The kids spent the night and sent us a text at 9:30PM so we could see the party they were having. Aunt Amy is so good to them!

Bob and I did a little shopping before heading over to The Cheesecake factory to dinner. We ate way too much, but managed to enjoy a piece of Mango Key Lime cheesecake...yum!

The big event of the evening was our date to hear the Symphony play at the nearby outdoor amphitheater. They played a selection patriotic songs and a few extras too...Start Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark.

The finale was Stars and Stripes Forever. Near the end of the song the fireworks display started. It was fabulous, almost better than their 4th of July show.

We've come a long way in 11 years and love it all! Happy Anniversary Bob! I love you!

All Aboard

Operation Lifesaver invited Bob to come ride a 1955 Union Pacific Astrodome car for a short presentation. Knowing that the kids and I would love a train ride he made all the arrangements for us to ride along.

We boarded the train for a scenic ride up a nearby canyon. The ride lasted 3 hours and was wonderful. We saw towering mountains, rode along in low valleys, chugged passed a beaver dam, and sped through a long dark tunnel.

The train car had 3 levels, a spacious bathroom and observation deck. I took the kids on a stroll through the 2 coupled cars. Ethan was fascinated by the fact that we could go from one car to the other without going outside.

We had a terrific time, thanks for the ride!

Canyon Camping

We love having the canyon nearby. There are so many wonderful things to do up our little canyon....we camped 2 nights with lots of Bob's family and made the most of it.

We took a big group of us and hiked up to Timpanongos Cave. The kids and I had never been and Bob hadn't been in years. It was a big hike for Ethan and Avery, well she made it a bigger hike for daddy. She rode on his shoulders the entire way.

When we finally made it to the top we were in for a real treat. The cave was amazing. There were lots of cool rocks formations to see.

Since this is a National Monument Ethan was able to earn his sixth JR Ranger badge.

We also got to take Uncle Bill's raft out on the lake for a spin. The kids loved it and took lots of extra turns with anyone who would take them.

We took one more hike up to some falls. I'm not sure what we were thinking taking two 3 mile hikes in less than 24 hours, but it was beautiful in the end.

One of the best parts of the weekend was all the camping food.

We had a fabulous time and are even looking at camping another weekend before the summer is over!
