What's New At The Zoo

We have the best friends. They have a boy Ethan's age, a girl Avery's age, and love to go on outings as much as we do. We've started a weekly outing day on Wednesdays and LOVE it! We ventured out to a busy day at the zoo a few weeks ago. We had to park a few blocks away and were questioning our decision, but really wanted to see the new exhibit so we braved the crowd.

I'm so happy we did. Rocky Shores is amazing. They have 3 grizzly bears rescued from Yellowstone. It was nearly as fun as seeing them in the wild. The enclosure is beautiful and we were lucky enough to have one of them come up right next to the window to eat a little celery and a few strawberries.

There are 3-4 underwater viewing areas. We saw the seals and sea lions swim round and round right next to the window.

We had so much fun seeing all the new parts to Rocky Shores.

But the highlight of our visit to the new area of the zoo was when the zoo keeper threw fish to the polar bear. The bear would dive in to the water and swim out to his lunch. It was fabulous. The zoo keeper made a real show out of it.

Thanks for the super Zoo trip friends! Can't wait 'til next week for our newest adventure!
