Chasing Goblins

We are always looking for an adventure, a new place to take our little family and get out and about! The Jeep just hit 200,000 miles. We wish we had a map of all the places those miles were put on! In honor of our mileage milestone last month after Bob passed his big certification test we took a 2 day family trip to visit a new state park.

I didn't know what to expect, but with a name like Goblin Valley how could you go wrong? We pulled up to the valley and the floor is covered with all sorts of hoodoos, rock formations galore to climb on, around and through.

The kids went crazy. They would run together from one rock to the next stopping just long enough to dig in the sand a little. It was like a huge playground and Bob and I just sat back and let them run.

We hiked around for a while then headed up for a picnic lunch. Ethan was all too ready to start climbing again after lunch. He'd climb up one rock, shout out for me to take his picture then head to the next.

Avery wasn't far behind him. She wanted to "climb it and hike it" all by herself. She was a little wobbly at first, but now she's got great balance!

It was fun to see our kids get along so well. They really are great friends and love being together.

We had a super relaxing day before heading around the mountain on another adventure!

I LOVE Goblin Valley. We went there growing up. Have you seen Galaxy Quest? They show part of it for the alien planet. Pretty cool!
