Playing 'Round

We've been playing around in our community lately. A local museum had a week long calendar of events. Each day's topic was something Ethan and I love so we made the jaunt down the street three days in a row.

Dino Day! I saw this months ago and made sure to put it on our To Do List. We showed up early enough to dig out a few fossils. We had to be careful to extract our trilobite, crinoid, and shark's tooth. Ethan was very excited to find fossils. He also bought a fish fossil with his dollars from Gram. It was a great day.

The next day the museum's show was Reptiles and Birds of Prey...very cool. Obviously it was 2 different shows an hour apart, but we stayed for both. Ethan has always loved snakes and our last trip to Yellowstone taught him a thing or two about birds of prey.

The third day was my choice-Pioneer Games. We are doing a primary activity day on Saturday about pioneers so I wanted ideas. Ethan liked the rope making, a train ride, and the Daniel Boone costume!

After the museum we headed over to the park for the boutique. Again my idea, but when we got to the park and the big blow ups were open Ethan was more than willing to browse the booths until it was his turn. His favorite was the big boy obstacle course..the first time he was a little hesitant, but by the third time...

Finally we went to the annual mini parade complete with family, floats, cheerleaders, and CANDY! The floats were great this year. We had a hard time narrowing down a favorite.

Avery loved waving to all the people waving at her...It was great!

After the parade Bob's family came to our house for burgers and fun. It was the perfect end to a festive week!
