We Love Washington

We love to go see Gram, Papa and all the Washington Family. Ethan says he wishes we lived closer every time he sees a picture of us in Washington...maybe because we always make the most of every trip. This time we were able to do lots of fun things...


Met our new baby cousin, Daniel. Avery couldn't get enough of him. She could hold this little guy all day long!





Played with Cousins...Harvey, Samantha Lane, and Daniel.


Had a great time at Uncle Ryry and Auntie Hannah's house feeding the animals and meeting the new baby horse.



AND we took a road trip to the Beach. Gram, Papa, Amy, Ray and our little family packed up and headed out. We crossed the Columbia River 8 times before finally making it to Long Beach.

We made a few stops along the way. The Astoria Column. We hiked up lots of windy stairs to launch our balsa wood airplanes and watch them twirl and soar down to the ground.


Fort Stevens: an old army base turned gun battery museum. It was fun to climb up and "fire off" the big guns and drive the old army jeep.


Finally we hit the beach and boy did we have fun. Ethan and Avery loved digging in the sand & playing in the surf.










We flew kites, drove on the beach and one night had a campfire with s'mores.


We had a great time playing on the beach, touring the surrounding area and spending time with family. We visited the lighthouses, walked along the jetty, and saw a sea lion, porpoise, deer and black bear.

On the way back to Gram and Papa's we stopped at the Fish Hatchery and took the scenic waterfall byway. It was beautiful!
